Iverbe!

Hey guys :) Happy Holidays! Today was my first day working at the Iverbe children's camp. It was awesome yet VERY exhausting. I counseled 25 pre-K and Kindergarten age children from 8:30 to 4:00. I don't have tomorrow off and I work until 5:30. This is such an awesome opportunity and I am extremely thankful and fortunate to have this opportunity. Most teenagers my age are unpaid sub-counselors but I'm definitely getting paid and having full counselor status...which is reserved for college students. Aside from that, the kiddos were adorable! They were creative, total sweethearts and FULL of energy. My co-counselors were awesome. They helped me feel included although I am a few years younger than them and they were so great with the kids that it didn't make me afraid of acting weird if I were to really get into playing with the kids.  I'm excited to see how the rest of this week goes and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!! Tuesday Christmas Lights!

Hey guys :) Happy Holidays! I cannot wait for this week to end! I cannot wait for Winter Break because I can sleep, work and have some fun! Tonight for Young Women's we visited the Temple Grounds and every year they decorate everything (except the temple) with lights. It's pretty awesome because it's such a large display. It was nice to get away from schoolwork and I hope you all have a wonderful week

Then we went to the mall and I couldn't help but try on make-up when we walked through the beauty section :) I thought that since I was embarrassed on Facebook due to this picture's release...why not share it on this blog? 

Friday Fun!

Hey guys :) Happy Belated Thanksgiving!!! Happy Belated Black Friday!!!! How was your break from school and work? I know that I have especially enjoyed the extra sleep! It was also nice to have the opportunity to do something other than the normal weekly activities. For example, I went Black Friday shopping at 12am and along with my new purchases, I received a free watch! I also went on an outing with my friends the Evans and the Planks to my hometown, Long Beach for a fun afternoon out. Well, that pretty much sums up my week so enjoy the rest of you time off! My Secret Life: Glenda Beck

Hey guys :) I found this old video from a few years ago and I finally found a way to upload it so I can share. I made this two years ago for a project in English. My awesome friends Sarah and KC helped me film it and it makes me miss them even more every time I see it. I can't thank either of you enough for all you guys have done for me and this is one example. I was completely desperate because I didn't have a video camera, I didn't know how to video tape or edit anything and you guys were there for me :) 

I love you guys and can't wait for our next visit! 

Fresh Pizza and Preserving the life of defenseless creatures!

Hey guys! How is your week going? Tonight for YW's we made fresh pizza! It was ridiculously easy and it actually tasted awesome. It literally took 2 minutes to assemble and 10 to bake. Aside from the usual Tuesday shenanigans, another awesome thing about today was a lab we did in Biology.  There were live sea creatures along with pieces of seaweed in dish pans and we had the opportunity to touch them and look at them under a microscope. The best part of the entire activity was being able to touch the sea creatures, and there was some pretty cool creatures! Such as, an octopus, starfish, unidentifiable species of worms, shrimp, crabs, etc. Although, in the end, I had a conflicting view with my teacher. She was going to throw away all the creatures and only set free the octopus. Not only are those creatures alive but she is also always preaching about humanity's impact on the environment and animal species, so wouldn't this be an example of one? Using hundreds of ocean species and simply disregarding them at the end of the day? However, in the end, I convinced my teacher to save the lives of 10 sea stars, 6 crabs and 2 sea slugs. People v. Concha

Hey guys :) Happy Tuesday!!! Today was my Mock Trial competition and I'm both relieved yet bummed that it's all over. Although,  I can run for President at the end of the year and we'll still have weekly meetings for future events like fundraising. Plus, if we end up winning we can move on to another competition and debate all over again :)

In regards to winning competition, I say tonight was an easy win. The other team was completely unprepared. For example, one attorney was arguing with my witness, he wouldn't allow my witness to finish what she was saying and he also did not modify his question after my speculation objection was sustained. As for the final verdict, Concha was found not guilty for the charge of second degree murder but guilty for the possession and intent to sell a controlled substance. If  I was Concha, I would be satisfied. I would only have to serve 5 years or under for the first charge as opposed to 25 to life for second degree murder.

Now, the team and I wait for the verdict..if we were victorious or not. I hope y'all have a wonderful week!

Mock Trial!

Hey guys :) I cannot believe how time flies! It seems as if yesterday I was trying out for the position of an attorney on CCHS' Mock Trial team (technically we have to call ourselves team #331). Today was our final Sunday meeting and now I don't know what to look forward to on Sunday! It was such a blast hanging out and working with the team. However, at least I have Tuesday. Tuesday is our final competition date and it's my time to actually present and represent my team/ school.

Fortunately, my audition was a success because I received the generous position of a Defense attorney. I say generous because I could have easily been given the position of an understudy...which most first years are usually given. What's also cool is that instead of one cross and direct examination I have two! It's been wonderful to get to know my witnesses along with the rest of the team.

Now, in regards to the actual case, I shall give a short summary. Basically, my client or the defendant, Rae Concha, is being charged with the intent to sell and the possession of a controlled substance (the medication Adderall) along with second degree murder (now, let's face it, this is WEAK murder. Rae should be charged with man slaughter). How does a young gentleman, a freshly graduated youth end up with such charges? His best friend Jason Johnson suffered from a heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (it's going to take a few times before you say it correctly) which is severe. The victim, Mr. Johnson was under the influence of alcohol along with Adderall. Taking Adderall with such a heart condition would have led to a series of negative effects, however, the alcohol exacerbated the effects of the amphetamine due to both substances competing for enzymes in the liver, and this is one explanation for what eventually led to the victim's death. Alex Weaver, another "friend" of Rae Concha (who I would like to say is very pompous and narcissistic) says that he witnessed Concha illegally selling and distributing Adderall and marijuana out of the back of his truck which is why he is being charged with the first charge. The second charge sprouts from the belief that my client acted with a malignant heart in selling the Adderall to Johnson while being fully aware of his heart condition along with not preventing him from consuming any other substances which could have caused bodily harm. However, as an attorney, and my experience of research and insight due to certain witnesses, I say the victim acted with malice by showing a disregard for his own life by being fully aware of his severe heart condition and still making the conscious choice not only to consume the Adderall BUT the alcohol.

There is so much more I can get into and explain and that is what makes Mock Trial SO much fun! I'm excited yet a tad bit nervous for Tuesday but my time has come and I'll never be more ready or prepared than now. We got this team #331 and it was wonderful spending time with all of y'all :)

Halloween Horror Nights :)

Hey guys :) How is your weekend going? Surprisingly, mine hasn't been that busy. I was able to catch up on plenty of sleep while having fun! Last night, my friends and I went to Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights and it was awesome! However, it wasn't as as scary as I expected. For example, the mazes which were dedicated to The Walking Dead. The decor was amazing but the zombies were hardly terrifying (however, there was one exception. There was this fat zombie that leaned all the way back while walking that was a really creepy) or the individuals who were walking around from 'The Purge'. The movie itself was pretty pathetic but they weren't terrifying. Although, aside from the attractions that didn't reach my expectations (however, I will admit that I shouldn't have expected so much) the night was still a ton of fun. I made a new friend named Chucky and we had a stand off where we insulted each other and there were few mazes that were really cool! For example, the Evil Dead, Insidious and Black Sabbath (which was 3D!). Some of the individuals who scared you were interesting, like the scarecrows and clowns. They were also good sports for playing along with my Sassy Gay Friend/ annoying antics. Enjoy the final hours of your weekend!

Halloween (Part #2)

Hey guys :) Once again, Happy Halloween! What mischief did you cause or what fun did you have? Halloween was a blast except for when my friend Alex and I went trick-or-treating a little late and everyone was out of candy! However, it was funny to creep them out with his costume. He had his entire mouth covered with latex while the rest of his face was black and white like the man in the movie 'Sinister'. Well, Happy Halloween!

Tuesday Temple Trip

Hey guys :) How is your week starting out? Personally, my week has been fantastic! I absolutely cannot wait until tomorrow. I am not sure if I mentioned that I am on Mock Trial but a few months ago I auditioned for the part of an attorney and I made it!! I am working for the Defense and tomorrow is our Mock Trial scrimmage because next week is the beginning of our competition! I didn't realize it until now but WOW does it creep up on you!

Tonight was relaxing because I attended Youth Baptisms at the Temple. I remember last time our pictures weren't quite clear because it was dark outside but today I was determined to fix that! I hope y'all have a wonderful remainder of the week and wish me luck tomorrow! I'm absolutely excited and a tad bit nervous; but on the bright side, I can dress up tomorrow and actually have a valid excuse for heels :)

Who Doesn't Enjoy Cookies?!?

Hey guys :) Wasn't today absolutely wonderful?!? I had my second date this afternoon and then I made Halloween cookies! The date was an absolute blast and it was nice to have some relaxing craft time. I have never imagined myself as crafty but I always seem to find myself creating a project out of scrapbook paper or decorating something. I hope you have a wonderful week and Happy Autumn!

Phantom Obsession

Hey guys :) For the past few days I haven't been able to get enough of the lush music from Phantom of the Opera or it's sequel, Love Never Dies. I'm going through the phase where I absolutely fall in love with a piece of music and I listen to it every change I have. For now, it's all about Gerald Butler and his love triangle with Emmy Rossum and Patrick Wilson. therefore, I will share the pieces I have fallen in love with once again:

Trunk-or-Treat!

Hey guys :) How is your weekend going? For my fellow CCHS classmates, how was Homecoming?!? I apologize for missing out on such an event but I decided to attend the traditional Mormon Trunk-or-Treat. Yes, I know the name is a bit dorky but it is a fun way to obtain extra candy! Haha, it's also a blast to dress up. Every year, regardless of your age, you always end up having a fun time. If there was anything to complain about, it would be that everyone mistook me for a Pan Am stewardess when I was obviously a WW2 British Air Force Captain! Although, that was my original costume idea so it wasn't a big deal. I hope everyone is having  a wonderful weekend!

Friday Night Date Night!

Hey guys :) How is your week going? Have you done anything fun? Tonight, I experienced my first date and it was absolutely wonderful! I have never had SO much fun on a Friday night off. I went out to eat, watched the movie 'Carrie' and walked around  for awhile all in Downtown Culver city. I hope your Friday was just as wonderful as mine and have a wonderful weekend!

 A couple I knew who happened to be at the same restaurant gave us this sweet Halloween treat. It was a topping for a cupcake but the ghost was TOO cute!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Hey guys :) How is the beginning of your week going? Personally, mine is FANTASTIC! Life is awesome and it my favorite time of the year, autumn and Halloween. Tonight I carved pumpkins and discovered what I am going to do for my APUSH project. We have been assigned to go against the social norm by experimenting with something weird to see how everyone else would react and I have decided to combine my completed project tonight with my original idea which involves a baby doll. I will not describe my full intentions until the project is complete but I plan on having fun! I hope y'all have a wonderful week and Happy Autumn!

Let's Get To Work!

Hey guys :) Do you ever experience this competitive urge to succeed above all others? Well, I recently discovered that a fellow student at my school has a website for assisting and helping other fellow students in regards to studying, review, notes, ect. Now, if you are not aware, I have three blogs that are aimed to assist not only present students but future students or curious minds in regards to Seminary, Holocaust history and APUSH.

I have checked out the website, and although it is pretty simple and basic (in regards to graphics) I found it very impressive how the creator could upload the actual notes and review guides for the specific topics and subjects. With that being said, this competitive streak within me wants to create blogs that will triumph over this website along with helpful information/ material that will be superior to all other attempts that are either present at this very time or will appear in the future.

Hey guys :) HAPPY FRIDAY! Normally, I'm not excited for the weekend but tonight is one of my rare nights off and I absolutely cannot wait to relax and catch up on sleep! Yesterday I had a fun evening shopping with my aunt, Angi. I didn't really find anything that worked and the pictures below are just examples of the fun I had anyways. Have a wonderful weekend :)

The Suspense Is Killing Me!

Hey guys :) After my wonderful day of birthday surprises I just have one bone to pick! I need to solve the mystery behind who sent me the red roses, chocolate and balloons! The suspense is killing me! Whoever sent me such a sweet gesture should just come out and say it! Please..and thank you. I enjoyed walking into my room after school today and seeing the fresh red roses in a vase with a ribbon around them. It made me smile and they were pretty :)

Birthday mystery?

Hey guys :) I just received the best surprise ever! Someone left me red roses, chocolate and balloons on my door step for my birthday. I am trying to figure out who left me such a sweet gift. Earlier tonight at mutual, one of my young women leaders asked me about the one thing I would love on my birthday and I said I have always wanted to be surprised. I have always wanted to be given a secret note in my locker or some spontaneous gift. Although, the special someone left me red roses. Wouldn't that be too romantic of a gesture? The roses also had a ribbon...whoever you are, Thank you! This was a wonderful surprise and I can't stop smiling :)

16th Birthday!!!!

Hey guys :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Although "birthday time" technically started 2 days ago, it was wonderful to receive all of the sweet birthday wishes, hugs and gifts from everyone! From the small phrases of 'Happy Birthday' as you passed me in the hallway to the gifting of birthday presents thank you all! One thing I really enjoyed was when I came home and was given a present from a family I babysit for and when another family and the girls I babysit gave me cards and gifts. However, that does not mean that any of the other gifts and exchanges of 'Happy Birthday' I received were not just as sweet! They all made my day and once again, thank you! Have a wonderful week!
