Hey guys. So today is the first day of Fall Break! Sitting in my dorm room alone, it's unusually quite for a Friday. Luckily, I'm doing something later today and I am busy all weekend because being on campus practically, day in and day out in a small town is starting to get to me. By all means, it is beautiful but it just doesn't feel like home. When I am out and about, I have learned that everyone loves camo and alot of men have country beards. To me, that isn't normal. I also need food, like really good food. I'm not saying that my microwavable Rice-a-Roni cups taste terrible (one of my personal favorites along with the frozen burritos) but I need some food that I haven't had for awhile. Food that I can't and won't find at The Pub or Hunt Dining Hall or in my mini fridge.
So, putting my spiel aside, here is a look at some of my precious adventures in light of my (hopefully) new ones in the next couple of days:

The continuation of my asylum adventures:
So, about 2 weeks ago I went back to the Dejarnette Center for Human Development and to my dismay, my companion for this trip wanted to leave after 5 seconds. Therefore, part of my adventured today will be to once again venture inside and (hopefully) my sidekick this time around will not chicken out.
Where I am standing there are old patient files, books the adolescent patients wrote in and flashcards they used. That is one reason I love discovering this place. It is a time capsule for venturing into the past.
The sweatshirt I am wearing was given to me by Sarah and KC for my birthday! I love it and it really came in handy since it was freezing cold and raining that day.
This is coming through the entrance and down that hallway are some rooms, to the side a staircase which leads to the second floor and some metal doors with rooms behind them as well. So far, with all the trips I have taken, I have only been able to venture as far back as the doors. Hopefully, with today's companion I can take more pictures and venture further.
This is from the main entrance of the second, add-on building. You cannot get inside from here but the fence has a giant hole in it so at least you can be on the steps.

My first day at work:
I got a job! I actually have a few jobs now. This is my first at Firehouse Subs. On this day, the ice machine in our fabulous coke dispenser was broken and a whole bus of elderly folk came so I was asked to scoop out ice for their drinks. I won myself a few tips and it was really fun!
Halloween Decorating and Birthday Gifts:
So I decorated my door for Halloween. This is the original, finished work. My favorite part is Micheal and his utensil being stuck in the door!
My friend Angi gave me an Amazon gift card and through some of my searching I found a Micheal Myers plush and two cool classic movie poster t-shirts! Of coarse I had to get 'em!
Founders Day:
Another one of those strange traditions where you dress up and head over to the Presbyterian church across the street.
I made a new friend:
Her name is Himanshi (I personally like to call her Hammurabi after King Hammurabi of Mesopotamia) and she is a junior. She is pretty neat.
Some Gems for the Season:
Happy Halloween and hope we all have fun adventures!
